This is classic and unmissable sightseeing in Cusco. You’ll depart Cusco for a full-day exploration of the Sacred Valley. Start off by a drive to the small village of Pisaq, a picturesque colonial town best known for its open-air market filled with products, here artisans from all over the area sell alpaca wool blankets, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, jewelry, and other exquisitely executed handicrafts, a chance for souvenir shopping. From this point, drive uphill for a visit of the ruins located just on top of a Mountain loaded with enclosures, terrace fields, and more, a great sample of the ingenuity of the Incas. Have some photoshoots at the rims of the site with a further explanation of the Guide.
Continue across the Valley to have lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll later head to the famed Ollantaytambo, once served as a fort to defend against Spaniards, the main Temple lays within a beautiful hill adorned with giant terraces reached only by steps. Here you’ll marvel at the beautiful enclosures including the Sun Temple, the water channels, and the Inca Gates. On the way back to Cusco, you’ll learn the traditional weaving techniques at the town of Chinchero in the hands of an expert woman. End with an evening return to Cusco downtown.
