Start off meeting your guide, to drive through the countryside of Cusco filled with majestic peaks and contrasting corn and barley fields. Your first stop will be at the town of Chinchero, home of ancient traditions and where you’ll have the opportunity to see a demonstration of weaving techniques held by local women. You’ll continue on to the town of Ollantaytambo, the only living Inca town that has inspired a romance novel. Here, you’ll explore the gorgeous remaining houses, terrace fields, water channels, and the impressive fortress reached by walking down steep steps. On top of it, you’ll learn about the fascinating architecture and theories about the constructions as you enjoy magnificent views.
After a buffet lunch by the countryside of Urubamba, you’ll continue on to visit the village of Pisaq, known for its colonial market, where the locals sell their woven alpaca wool blankets, ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, jewelry, and other exquisitely executed handicrafts. Then hop on the car to see the Inca complex of Pisaq, a site with an ever-changing landscape that lies within these mountain giants.
