Full Day

Cusco to Machu Picchu

Part 1: Scenic Train to Aguas Calientes

Meet our private driver at your hotel to be transferred to the train station of Ollantaytambo. You’ll board the classic Expedition train, sit back, and enjoy the stunning views as you journey alongside the Sacred Valley and Vilcanota River. This part will take around 1hour and 40minutes. On arrival at Aguas Calientes, meet and greet our Guide and start your adventure to Machu Picchu embarking on a prior short 30-min bus transfer.

Part 2: Enchanting Machu Picchu

Once on the site, take a breath and get started! This world-famous and renowned site is easily the most remarkable pre-Colombian city in the world. Located among the Andean cloud forest and surrounded by dramatic terraces cut into the mountainsides, famous for innovatively feeding the empire, this complex city will have you fascinated all day.

Our Guide will help you discover and understand what Machu Picchu tells us about the life and customs of the Incan people, sharing many interesting facts, stories, and theories of the Citadel. Add more excitement to your experience by taking the optional hikes to the famous Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountains, which can be challenging but will truly guarantee you spectacular and unparalleled views on top. At the end of the exploration, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and later on catch the afternoon train back to Cusco followed by a complimentary private transfer to your hotel.
