Itinerary

Half-Day

Cusco City and Top 4 Ruins

Begin in the afternoon with a pick-up at your hotel downtown. The first stop will be at the stunning Qoricancha or Sun Temple, built during the zenith of the Inca empire. Right after that visit Plaza de Armas, the heart of Cusco, for an overall explanation of how the iconic Basilica Catedral was built.

Later on, you will have the pleasure to visit the north part of the city where the marvelous Inca complex of Sacsayhuaman lies on a hill overlooking the city. Walking through the massive openings of the huge Inca walls will leave you speechless, as it is made out of massive rocks weighing up to 180 tons, and impeccably set up, an example of Inca ingenuity.

Move on to another important Inca site well known as Qenqo. This very peculiar place protects on the surface its interior where subterranean hidden passages made of stone reside. It is also said that the Incas used to mummify their dead here. A few kilometers ahead encounter the Inca baths of Tambomachay and the beautiful fort of Puka Pukara. End off with a transfer back to Cusco downtown
