Depart from Puno city port and escape to the legendary floating reed islands of Uros, connected each other through water channels and whose inhabitants took full advantage of the abundant reed branches of the Lake, you’ll later have a fun ride at one of the local’s Totora boats. On Amantani Island the tour will break into smaller groups and each one of them will go with your assigned local family. Don’t miss the hike up to the hilltop to see the Pachamama and Pachatata temples. Enjoy authentic food and music prepared and performed also by your designated family. End the day with dinner before drifting off with the sounds of Lake Titicaca.
Wake up like one family member and enjoy a wholesome local breakfast. We’ll take a morning ride to Taquile island in a boat to meet the locals, a warm community very distinct from the other Islands. You’ll learn more of their authentic and exceptional weaving techniques in hands of their expert craftsmen. You’ll even dress like one of them! After lunch, hop on the boat return trip to Puno arriving between 3:30-4:00 pm.
